Winter has passed and there's warm weather and RVing journey in the forecast

It has been awhile since my last post, and hopes of escaping the cold, snowy winter were dashed with other various obligations. But now I am planning my April journey that will lead me southward to the Carolinas. I am looking forward to de-winterizing my RV, opening up the awning and enjoying the outdoors in the camps I set-up in.

Taking the mantra of sub-300 miles per day, I have been exploring the range of camp grounds available. The one surprise is that spur-of-the-moment rolling up to a good looking spot may not be feasible: some are booked up to 6 months in advance. But luckily I have 18 days reserved for April thus far, and can work on further accommodations during the course of the journey.

Day trips from the camp sites will be great, and just not feeling rushed is something new. But it will be a great learning experience driving and coaxing the trailer in to various parking spots, along with seeing what it actually requires goods, clothing and money-wise to be on the road for an extended period. So time to start packing, load up the truck, load up the trailer and hit the road!
