RV with a view

It strikes me as a little funny to say that when I am in my Z-1 travel trailer that I’m actually camping. My years as a Boy Scout, my camping trips in college and in my 20s were sleeping bag on the ground, sleeping under the stars, breaking camp every time we went for a walk to keep the food away from bears, rinsing out mess kits and not really bathing unless near a river or lake to take a plunge.

Now I have electricity, water flowing and a comfortable queen bed to sleep on. I’m in camps with pools and Jacuzzis and showers and the chance to replenish propane at regular intervals if needed. It’s great and I don’t miss my ‘real’ camping days all that much.

The best part is arriving at a site after the long journey, detaching the Z-1 from my truck and setting it up to be level. And when I come to a rest, all tasks done, I look out my window and see nature. Hearing the rain, seeing the crackling of campfires in adjacent camps, the birds greeting the dawn and walking outside on trails to breath in fantastic air….. it really makes it all worthwhile….
