I spent a few hours at Camper’s Inn (where I purchased my Crossroads Z-1 RV) this week. I am still trying to find a place to store my rig, and they wanted to go over the systems of the RV. A couple of things have dawned on me: this is a second home on wheels and since it will experience earthquake level shaking while in transit, you have to be sure to make sure everything is tied down, strapped-in and not dangling off the frame while you are towing it down the road.
So the visit to the parts store (as well as recent shopping sprees on Amazon/Walmart/Home Goods) has seen me dramatically add to my kitchen supplies, tools, hoses and all other forms of keeping an RV operational. The beauty of my Z-1 is that I can be at a campground or open space, but the comforts of a second home are just a few steps away.
I take delivery next week and can’t with to load it up and hit the road. I plan on local, short trips at first and graduating up to longer distance excursions over time. At this point I want to transition from the Z-1 being an idea to a reality; it will be so great to see what I can transform it in to, and how it operates under all the conditions of weather and geography in store for us.
