I’m Finally Ready (I think…)

Coachmen_JH_1018

The servicing of my motorhome took a bit longer than expected so instead of a mid October start, I leave home tomorrow, October 29, on my first trip in the Coachmen Pursuit towing my Honda CRV. With new tires, batteries, oil, Bluetooth receiver (a guy has to have tunes and podcasts) and fully packed with clothes, groceries and gear, I am excited by the prospects that lay ahead for my trip through Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Florida. I have made my RV camp reservations and the mighty RV Trip spreadsheet is appropriately highlighted and tracking projected mileage and expenses for the journey.

Apart from the motorhome iters, I needed to leave information and guides for the tending of things on the homefront for my pal Mark and my son, who will be staying at my place. They will keep the mail from overflowing the small mailbox and keep my condo going in my absence. Since I’m not sure whether my RV trip will be a couple months or take me in to the Spring, it’s good to have someone to keep an eye on things.

So all the planning and thinking and logistical handling has led me to departure day. I am taking it slow and easy and safely. I will spend a couple of days in a motorhome driving course since I want to make sure I’m driving the motorhome that’s now also towing my Honda in the safest way I possible can. So more entries to follow from the road as I make my way south and cultivate the journey as 2018 comes to a close.
